Under the motto “Help for the community” the Heilbronn-based die-manufacturer Marbach has expanded its product portfolio. Recently, Marbach started to produce face shields to block airborne virus-carrying droplets. In addition, Marbach started a special campaign for its employees under the name “ACTION|M”.

Face Shields

The managing director Peter Marbach was approached by a clinic manager friend who told him that face shields were no longer available on the market. Wanting to help quickly, Marbach developed within a short time a face-shield kit based on a supplier’s CAD drawing. First of all, the shields were produced with existing leftover materials. Peter Marbach: “The demand was so great that the leftover material – a rigid A-PET film normally used to produce cups – was very quickly used up. But in the meantime we have supplied numerous clinics in the vicinity with face shields.” With the face shields* produced by Marbach, various professional groups with contact to the public such as doctors, medical staff, nursing home personnel, but also employees in pharmacies, supermarkets or delivery services can shield themselves from possible airborne droplets. Face shields also make sense in other areas where the required minimum distance cannot be maintained. This also applies to the production of a packaging manufacturer, for example when setting up knives.

Further production ensured

Because Marbach tools are essential in keeping the supply chain intact and so helping to supply the population with food, pharmaceuticals and other goods for daily use, Marbach is one of the companies classified as being an essential business in Germany. Thus Marbach can continue to produce for its customers, supply them reliably and continue to produce face shields for the benefit of the community.
