JG Service AG has been producing flexible packaging for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries in Hohenwart in Upper Bavaria for almost 30 years. The ultra-modern machine park with two 8-color flexographic printing, three laminating systems and four roll cutters has been supplemented by an HP Indigo 25K digital press since this month. JG Service AG is thus expanding traditional production with a flexible digital printing solution.

With the new installation, the company is consistently continuing its course of innovation. It was recognized early on that the ever shorter product life cycles and the greater variety of types result in ever smaller batch sizes that can only be realized economically and promptly with digital printing. The investment in DFP Solutions GmbH in 2018, which already had many years of experience in digital printing and two HP Indigo 20000, was therefore the next logical step, as Kathrin Raps-Janocha, member of the board of JG Service AG emphasizes “Many customers is not yet aware of the opportunities digital printing offers.

In this way, it not only enables shorter lead times and cost-efficient production of small batches, but also impresses with the possibility of personalization. “Here we do a lot of educational work for our customers. Often it is enough to show personalized or highly individualized samples. When these have also been given a special finish, we see how the cogs start to turn with the customers.
