Germany is clueless when it comes to packaging

According to a recent, representative survey by the DVI (German Packaging Institute), the majority of Germans do not dare to objectively assess packaging and complain about information deficits. The DVI publishes recommendations for action for retailers, product and packaging manufacturers at the Day of Packaging 2018.

  • 92.2 percent of Germans are interested in the subject of packaging.
  • Almost 60 percent do not feel or are not sufficiently informed.
  • More than two-thirds (67.8 percent) see it as their duty to inform retailers, product and packaging manufacturers

According to a representative survey by tns-infratest on behalf of the German Packaging Institute e. V. (dvi) On the occasion of the 4th day of packaging, 92.2 percent of Germans are interested in the subject of packaging. However, an absolute majority of 57.3 percent personally does not feel at all or not sufficiently informed to objectively assess important aspects of packaging. This group expects more and better information in particular from retailers (23.5 percent), packaging manufacturers (22.6 percent) and product manufacturers (21.7 percent).
