Flexipack invests in BOBST EXPERT K5 for production of sustainable, metallized-BOPP flexible-packaging films

Agbara, Nigeria-based Flexipack, Ltd., recently installed a 2,900-mm BOBST EXPERT K5 vacuum metallizer for producing metallized-BOPP films, which will be used in sustainable flexible-packaging products for customer throughout the sub-Saharan African market. 

Flexipack is the newest BOPP-film producer in Africa with a very ambitious growth strategy; the first phase of its state-of-the-art plant opened in 2022. Company owners have significant experience in West Africa with other very successful businesses in packaging. The first stage was two 8.7-meter-wide BOPP-film lines, and the metallizer is already operational. Primary slitter/rewinders from GOEBEL IMS handle output from the film lines. Two additional lines are set to be commissioned by 2025.
