DG press to reveal seamless solutions for barrier coatings for mono-material packaging applications
March 6, 2024DG press is engaged in an innovative project, together with one of our valued customers and our partner Siegwerk, a leader in the inks and coatings industry.
The main objective of the project is to showcase the efficient production of mono-material food packaging with an oxygen barrier. The required barrier properties are provided by the Cirkit® OxyBar BC 1582 coating and Heatguard 2K Overprint Varnish from Siegwerk and are applied in one pass, in line with printing and varnishing. With this project, DG press and its partners demonstrate that the modularly designed hybrid web offset printing presses can produce functional mono-material packaging structures in one pass with at least one functional barrier coating in line.
