On 27th September 2018, BOBST employees achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM title for the largest cardboard box mosaic (logo). This amazing achievement was completed on the company’s Mex production site, in the canton of Vaud, during the staff day. In 2h45, the employees managed to reproduce the brand’s logo covering a surface of 206m2.

The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title was accomplished in Mex’s Competence Center of Bobst Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries. 1 450 employees of Bobst Mex SA, split into 24 groups, folded and glued 20 160 tricolored (white, red and black) boxes in order to create the BOBST logo mosaic measuring 32.32 m wide and 6.365 m high.

Two official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM adjudicators came from London to witness the accomplishment and make sure things ran smoothly. They reminded the organizing team of the rules: “all the boxes of the mosaic must touch and the proportions of the logo must be scrupulously respected.”

All employees, gathered after the record attempt under a huge tent built for the occasion, greeted the official confirmation that BOBST was awarded a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM title with much enthusiasm and a massive round of applause. “This challenge illustrates that each individual contribution is crucial for the success of big common goals, rejoiced Philippe Milliet, Head of Bobst Mex SA. We are very proud to see the keen interest generated by this project and the passion our employees have shown throughout its realization.”
