Jodl Verpackungen Launches “Paper Instead of Plastic” Research Project

Austrian packaging company Jodl Verpackungen has launched the research project “Papier statt Plastik” (Paper Instead of Plastic) to develop sustainable, paper-based packaging solutions. The initiative focuses on replacing plastic with eco-friendly paper alternatives that meet both legal and environmental standards while maintaining product protection.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology (OFI), the Food Cluster, DELSCI GmbH, and Bad Zeller Eierhof. Researchers will analyze current plastic packaging and identify viable paper-based substitutes that are ecological, compliant, and economically feasible.

The project aims to deliver practical insights and new momentum for the advancement of sustainable packaging concepts.
