The global converted flexible packaging market is projected to grow from $280.1 billion in 2024 to $426.1 billion by 2034, at a CAGR of 4.3%, according to a new industry report (ID: 151465).

Flexible packaging—used widely in food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, and home goods—is increasingly preferred over rigid packaging due to its lightweight, cost-effective, and sustainable characteristics. Demand is rising as e-commerce expands and consumers favor recyclable or biodegradable solutions.

Plastic remains the dominant material, accounting for 42.8% of the market, followed by aluminum, paper, and biodegradable alternatives. Pouches led in product type, and printed packaging was the top choice for branding and shelf appeal. The food and beverage sector continued to be the largest end-user in 2024.

Asia Pacific held the largest regional market share at 36.1%, driven by manufacturing growth in China and India. Europe and North America followed closely, supported by strong regulations and sustainability trends.

Leading players include Sealed Air, Glenroy, Smurfit Kappa, Avery Dennison, ProAmpac, and Amcor. These companies are focusing on innovation and sustainable materials to align with regulatory changes and shifting consumer preferences.

Despite challenges like raw material cost volatility, the shift toward bio-based packaging, smart technologies, and minimalist designs presents strong growth opportunities for the next decade.
