Constantia Tobepal has announced a significant €14.1 million investment in a new tandem extruder at its Burgos facility. The move aims to boost production capacity for the pharmaceutical and food packaging sectors, strengthening the company’s presence in Spain and its ability to meet growing market demands.

This latest investment brings the total funding for Constantia Tobepal’s Spanish facilities to over €45 million in the last six years. The new extrusion line is expected to be fully operational by mid-2026, enhancing the company’s capacity to deliver consumer and over-the-counter (OTC) packaging solutions. It will also provide a backup for the Logroño plant, ensuring consistent production and service across both locations.

Agustín Sagredo, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, highlighted the strategic importance of the new extruder. “The link between our two Spanish plants not only increases our production capacity but also allows us to coordinate resources more effectively,” Sagredo said. “With Burgos managing the new extrusion line and Logroño benefiting from increased printing and rewinding volumes, we are well-positioned to balance workloads and meet demand efficiently.”

The addition of the tandem extruder underscores Constantia Tobepal’s long-term commitment to its Spanish operations. With over a century of experience in the flexible packaging industry, the company continues to innovate and expand to serve the evolving needs of customers across Europe.
