ICPFs Career Network Has Additional Multi-Major Grads & Students Seeking 2020 Positions
August 5, 2020During the past six
months, there have been over 70 job postings placed on the International
Corrugated Packaging Foundation’s (ICPF) career portal by ICPF partner firms
wishing to get an early start on their college recruiting for spring 2020.
However, in both ICPF’s resume bank and in ICPF’s corrugated career network,
ICPF continues to have by far more students seeking summer internships and new
2020 graduates seeking entry level positions than reported openings among ICPF
corporate partners. Many of these students and upcoming graduates are facing a
challenging year because of hiring freezes not only in our corrugated industry,
but in other packaging industries and the CPG’s. This year poses a great
opportunity for corrugated manufacturing firms that are capable of going
forward in seeking to attract personnel who will grow into future managers and
executives. Many of ICPF’s corporate partners have been in contact with ICPF
over the past two months for assistance in meeting new hiring needs. However if
you have not, and you may consider additional hiring this year, please ask your
HR managers to contact ICPF on using ICPF’s career portal and resume bank to recruit
students and new graduates who have concentrations in packaging science /
engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, sales &
marketing, business, industrial engineering, packaging design, graphic design,
supply chain management and related. Many of these students have interest in
sales, production & operations management and design.
Pictured are Emily VanderMoere, a 2020 graduate of Michigan State’s Packaging
School, and Kelsea Potthast, a University of Florida junior majoring in Business
Administration (concentration in marketing) with a minor in packaging science
minor. After attending ICPF’s Student / Executive Dialogue Dinner, Emily was
offered a position as structural designer with Green Bay Packaging and Kelsea
acquired a sales internship with Hood Container Corporation.
