Hell Gravure leaves Kiel
December 25, 2018Kiel once again loses a well-known company with gravure specialist Hell Gravure. The company is expected to move into a new industrial park in neighboring Schwentinental in three years with around 140 employees.
There, the company has acquired a more than 26,000 square meter plot of land on which a new building with around 10,000 square meters of floor space will be built. For the project, the company takes a tens of millions in the hand. The new building on the old Preetzer Chaussee is just 50 meters beyond the city limits.
In Wellingdorf there was no more perspective
Hell Gravure is one of the leading suppliers of engraving machines for the production of gravure printing originals, which are mainly used for the production of packaging or labels as well as for magazine printing. At the long-standing location in Kiel-Wellingdorf, the company no longer saw a development perspective. The building dating back to the 1960s in Philipp Reisweg, with its 8,000 square meters of floor space, is not only too small, but also does not meet the modern requirements for layout and infrastructure, says commercial director Horst Bick. For a long time, they had been looking for alternatives with the city of Kiel: “But there was not the right thing for us.”
