Combinath, a corrugated board converter based in Torun, Poland, has opted for a Baysek C-170 flatbed die cutter. The company was founded in 1998 and has grown continuously since then. Today, the company employees approximately 65 people. Combinath produce a wide variety of packaging in multiple sectors, including food packaging and luxury packaging, which was one of the main reasons for choosing the C-170. The machine has an optional single-face corrugated attachment allowing Combinath to produce interior packaging for the cosmetics and luxury packaging industries. Combinath are regular exhibitors at premium packaging fairs; Cosmoprof, BeautyWorld and Luxepack.

“We have always liked the Baysek die cutter and its versatility,” said Joanna Wyrwas, General Manager, of Combinath. One big benefit of having this machine is the nick-free, multiple-out die cuts which will improve both our productivity and expansion plans. After we viewed the machine in a live production environment and witnessed the machine’s capabilities, we knew this was our next investment”.

Robert Jess, UK & Europe Sales, adds, “The servo-driven C-170 is the perfect fit for Combinath and their business model. We have included the optional single-face attachment to their machine which will give them additional flexibility to expand their product portfolio. The machine will also give Combinath the capability to handle higher volume packaging runs and increase capacity even further. The machine will be installed Spring 2022”.

The Baysek die cutting method removes the need to manually strip waste from die cut work, thanks to the machine’s pneumatic waste extraction hood, leaving finished units free of waste and paper dust, no matter how difficult or intricate the job. Up to 60,000 pieces per hour can be achieved with a multitude of substrates. The C-170 can process grades of corrugated from micro-flute to BC double wall, single face and solid fibre.

The C-170 automatic die cutter has a maximum sheet size of 1400mm (L) x 1700mm (W). Large one-outs, more complex work, and multiple-outs up to 60 individual pieces per cycle are easily handled. The finished parts exit the machine already counted and neatly stacked, and immediately ready for shipping, saving both time and additional labour costs because no further handling is required such as ‘breaking out’ or further stripping. The Baysek die cutting method requires only one flat die, and one operator to work the entire machine, making it an extremely cost-effective machine with a quick return on investment.
