Phillip Mack, Vice President of Young Shin USA Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korean-based Young Shin Industries, is pleased to announce the promotion of Ed Cowgill from National Parts and Service Manager to Vice President of Technical Support for the firm’s North American operations. Together with his focus on the Young Shin flatbed diecutter product line, Cowgill will also continue the management of service, training and parts for the German-based STOCK Maschinenbau product line that Young Shin USA also represents in the North American markets. Cowgill, a 39-year graphic arts and corrugated industries veteran, joined the organization as National Parts and Service Manager upon the firm’s establishment in March 2008 when Young Shin USA Limited was formed to enhance the company’s global presence as a leader in flatbed diecutters. He has selected, hired and directly manages the full-time, company-employed service team, representing highly skilled and responsive experts trained by factory designers, engineers and technicians on both South Korean and German product lines. Cowgill is also responsible for managing the parts ordering, inventory and customer shipments to provide rapid domestic turnaround time to maintain minimal interruptions at Young Shin and STOCK customer operations. He is recognized for his superb analytical skills in diagnosing equipment situations often handling most service issues simply via the telephone. Cowgill also coordinates customer installations, training, routine maintenance calls and customer service calls, as needed. Mack remarks, “Ed has demonstrated admirable leadership in assembling and managing one of the best technical teams servicing high-end equipment for the corrugated, folding carton and display maker industries. Since the firm’s inception, he has been integral to the success of the organization and has shown continued expertise in the skillful management of our highly-regarded service organization.”

Prior to joining Young Shin USA, Cowgill most recently served as Owner / Operator of CESSCO for 15 years, responsible for the service and supply of parts for flatbed die cutting machines in the carton industry, and foil stamping machines in the graphic arts industry. Cowgill was also employed at MAN Roland, Promeq Inc. / Sugano Incorporated Chicago, serving as Plant Manager and overseeing the development and assembly of foil stamping and die cutting machines. Cowgill adds, “It has been an exciting experience to be a part of the growth of the Young Shin / STOCK organization and expanding client rosters in the North American markets. The support that our U.S. based technicians receive from the engineers and technicians from Young Shin’s South Korea headquarters and STOCK’s German-based manufacturing facility allows us to deliver premier technical service to our clients. As we continue to expand our installations in North America, our service team is poised to deliver the high-quality service that keeps our customers running at their highest efficiency and profitability.”
