The new Fusion Nature Plus paper and the successful Fusion Topliner transform many corrugated board packages, such as those used in e-commerce, into real eye-catchers. Sappi’s new virgin-fibre liner is currently showcasing its many strengths in a limited-edition mailing with a variety of packaging, which was rolled out to brand manufacturers, designers and corrugated board converters worldwide as part of the product’s extensive launch campaign. The specialist in paper-based solutions is introducing an impressive premium product to the market – in line with the rapidly increasing demand for corrugated board packaging, driven in part by the booming e-commerce business. The high-quality packaging was developed and produced by Brohl Wellpappe, a respected manufacturer of corrugated packaging and display solutions.

  • New opportunities for premium corrugated applications
  • ‘Wow effect’ guaranteed
  • Supports brand recognition

In the context of the international launch campaign for its new Fusion Nature Plus virgin-fibre liner, Sappi – supported by packaging manufacturer Brohl Wellpappe – created a very distinctive mailing with specially designed e-commerce packaging and high-quality corrugated board packaging including inlays.

A shipping carton with show-stopping appeal

The design consists of a shipping carton containing the product packaging and brochure (all made of corrugated cardboard). Although the design is neutral on the outside, a memorable wow effect awaits inside the box. The first thing the recipient sees after opening is the inside of the shipping carton, which is digitally printed in a colour design that contrasts beautifully with the standard brown of the test liner used on the outside. The enclosed product packaging and brochure are printed on Fusion Topliner with a high-resolution offset print on the outside and on Fusion Nature Plus with a brilliant digital print on the inside. The bright white inlays – also produced entirely with Fusion Nature Plus – hold everything securely in place without the need for additional filler materials.

The project was carried out at three Brohl Wellpappe production plants in Germany (Föhren, Mayen and Niederzier). The result is impressive: sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing packaging solutions that immediately stand out, while being ideally suited to meeting the logistic requirements of online retailing without compromising on visual appeal.

“We have been using Fusion Topliner from Sappi very successfully for many years, and Fusion Nature Plus is based on the same concept,” explains Christoph Hartz, Sales Director Display at Brohl Wellpappe. “The results of the new virgin-fibre liner won us over once again. We recommend the product especially for applications that require a high visual quality.” The company from the Rhineland-Palatinate region in Western Germany supported the paper manufacturer with valuable input during the product development phase.
