We can be heroes for Global Recycling Day

The event is coordinated by the Global Recycling Foundation to recognise people, places and activities that highlight the important role recycling plays in creating an environmentally stable planet. A worldwide social media search and competition will be launched in January, with the aim of recognising both well-known and ‘unknown’ heroes.

Backed by the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), Global Recycling Day was created to celebrate recycling. The foundation claims that Global Recycling Day has reached more than 600 million people across the world through activities and all types of media since it was launched in 2018. The goal for 2020 is one billion people.
