A further step towards the internationalization of Made by Italy. This is what happened with the entry of Uteco Group and Simec Group into the Italian Technology Center (ITC) business network in Pune, India. The two world players in the printing and converting industries will thus broaden their presence on foreign markets.

The Italian Technology Center offers retists economic and market analyzes, targeted marketing actions and the organization of events and fairs. In a market like the Indian one, which grows at the rate of 6.5% per year for printing and converting machines, the logic of the network allows individual members to take advantage of services for internationalization, reducing costs and having personnel in dedicated site.

ITC was founded in 2013 thanks to Ucimu (the association of Italian machine tool manufacturers, robots, automation and products for these auxiliaries) and Amaplast (the national association of molds for plastic and rubber machinery and molds), and it is now enriched by the collaboration of Acimga (the Italian Manufacturers’ Association of Machines for the Graphic, Paper, Paper, Transformation and Related Industries), of which Simec and Uteco are members.

We are very proud – explains Acimga Director Andrea Briganti -. The ITC is the first ever initiative of its kind in the Association’s 72-year history. We are soon planning to replicate this model in two other countries, Malaysia and Indonesia, in order to help our members to become more and more global players in the printing and converting machines sector, in line with the specific requests and requirements of the General Board of Association. Acimga is putting in place new services for internationalization with a high design and market content on which, obviously, we will keep all the stakeholders updated .

The Italia Technology Center will thus become a bridge to India for the two associated Acimga, increasing their already high vocation to export.

We are recognized as world leaders in printing presses – explains the president of Uteco Group Aldo Peretti – but this is not a point of arrival for us, but starting. Our company policy goes in two directions to expand emerging markets where we can strengthen our penetration and continue to innovate to maintain the highest standards of excellence. India is a fast-growing country for our sector, where we have growing references and where the ITC will provide us with additional tools to further strengthen ourselves in that area .

Our cylinders are known and appreciated all over the world and play a key role in the packaging and printing market – says Emilio Della Torre, CEO of Simec Group -. We do not place geographical limits our motto is ‘go GLOCAL’; global action is associated with a local action, guaranteeing to customers all over the world both the advantages linked to a centralized production characterized by high volumes and those normally offered by a local supplier, such as rapid delivery times, regardless of the geolocation. Membership of the ITC is a further step in this direction a targeted local business with excellent partners that is a consequence of a global strategy. We will support all the initiatives of intermediate bodies such as Acimga in this direction .
