Siegwerk has announced the successful modernization of its Center of Excellence in Annemasse, France. The site, which is crucial for the company’s operations in the EMEA region, has been updated to include state-of-the-art technology, safety measures, and a new modern aesthetic.

The site’s reopening in May 2023 was celebrated with employees and local authorities. The modernization project, which began in November 2021 but had to be intermittently paused due to the pandemic, included significant updates to the administration building and renovation of the facade to reflect Siegwerk’s bold branding.

The Annemasse site, one of 15 Siegwerk Centers of Excellence around the world, is responsible for the manufacture of the company’s basic inks and coatings using a standardized process. The site has a production capacity of over 25,000 tons per year, accounting for 10% of Siegwerk’s annual output.

The updated site, which houses 275 employees, is now a leading European location for water-based and inkjet solutions. Combining R&D, production, and testing capacities under one roof, it ranks among the top industrial printing facilities in Europe. As part of the revamp, an automated Blending Center for the production of solvent- and water-based inks has been installed. In the last decade, Siegwerk has invested millions of euros into this center to ensure it remains sustainable, efficient, and competitive.
