Siegwerk and Borouge Partner for Recyclable Packaging Solutions

Siegwerk and Borouge have partnered to develop fully recyclable mono-material packaging solutions. This collaboration aims to replace complex, multi-material packaging with designs that are easier to recycle, promoting a circular economy.

The partnership will combine Borouge’s polyolefin solutions with Siegwerk’s innovative inks and coatings to address challenges like sealability and barrier performance. This will create mono-material packaging that offers the same functionality as traditional designs, with improved sustainability.

One initial project will focus on a recyclable stand-up pouch using Borouge’s Borstar® technology-based HDPE and Siegwerk’s oxygen barrier coating and deinking primer for easy recycling.
