Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Successful Innovation Day

On November 17, 2023, the Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie (SID) celebrated its 30th anniversary with a successful Innovation Day in Leipzig. The event, attended by 80 guests, included a series of expert talks and presentations. Clemens Baumann from Omron Electronics GmbH discussed integrated image processing in collaborative robots, showcasing an Omron robot in action. Dr. Alexander Münch from the Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e. V. presented on functional polymer coatings and their application in inkjet printing. Oliver Hensen from WKS Druckholding GmbH shared insights on sustainable energy production and consumption in printing houses. Beatrix Genest from SID Leipzig highlighted the challenges of the ongoing project on improving color adhesion on non-absorbent substrates.

The day also featured guided tours of the institute, showcasing its work and achievements. The event offered valuable networking opportunities and sparked discussions for future projects and tasks in the printing industry.
