Rengo Completes Acquisition of Toppan Containers Shares

Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that, having advanced preparations for the acquisition of shares in Toppan Containers Co., Ltd. to make Toppan Containers a subsidiary of Rengo as detailed in our communication on March 2, 2018 (“Rengo Acquires Shares in Toppan Containers Co., Ltd.”) and receiving anti-monopoly law-related approval by the Fair Trade Commission of Japan and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Rengo completed the acquisition of 60% of the shares in Toppan Containers on September 3, 2018. At the same time, Toppan Containers’ trade name, head office location and its representative were changed, as set forth below.

In future, Rengo will actively make capital investments in Rengo Toppan Containers’ three corrugated plants (Kawaguchi-shi in Saitama Prefecture, Sano-shi in Tochigi Prefecture and Ishinomaki-shi in Miyagi Prefecture) and will enhance the production capacity of corrugated packaging and further improve quality. In this way, the Rengo Group will expand its supply capacity of corrugated packaging in the Kanto region where demand for corrugated packaging is growing significantly, and will organize systems to more fully satisfy customers’ future needs.
