Parkside introduces fully recyclable single polymer laminate

Parkside has introduced a new fully recyclable single polymer laminate, which is made from 100% polyethylene (PE).

Recoflex-PE’s barrier properties and sealing performance are similar to a range of laminates that are mostly in the flexible packaging sector and are not being recycled at present.

Parkside said the laminate design combines two grades of PE to create functionality including better printability, mechanical strength and high barrier.

The functionality will ensure the laminate’s suitability for a range of flexible packaging applications, compared to other standard PE materials on the market.

The recyclable single polymer laminate will be validated with recyclers and the OPRL scheme. Recoflex-PE can be utilized for majority of flow wraps, pouches or bags that need a high barrier, and are not designed for use in elevated temperatures.

Recoflex-PE can also be used for nuts and snacks, most cheeses, coffee, protein powders and nutrition packaging, as well as high barrier lidding films for protein foods.
