Paper industry with a unified association from 2022

From 2022 onwards, the German pulp and paper industry will be uniformly managed at the federal level by an economic and socio-political umbrella organization under the name DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE e. V. represent. Corresponding merger resolutions were passed at the extraordinary general meetings of the two previous economic and social policy federal associations.

At the first joint general meeting that followed, Winfried Schaur, Executive Vice President Technology UPM, was elected President of the new unified association. Vice-presidents are Martin Krengel, WEPA SE, and Dr. Christopher Grünewald, Gebr. Grünewald GmbH & Co. KG.

“We are facing major economic and political challenges and with the new association we will represent our interests even more clearly in Berlin,” said President Schaur, previously President of the Federal Association for Economic Policy. “The socio-political and economic-political interest representation are inseparable. We can now bundle our strengths in both areas even better, ”explained Vice President Krengel, previously chairman of the Federal Association of Social Policy.

The new association is led by the general manager, Alexander von Reibnitz. Andre Müller becomes the deputy chief executive officer. The association is based in Berlin. It has further offices in Bonn and in the paper center in Gernsbach. The national associations of the pulp and paper industry will each become members of the new unified association.

The unified association DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE will be the central social, collective bargaining and economic interest representation of companies in the pulp and paper industry in Germany and will bundle and pool the common interests of the industry with its more than 100 companies and around 47,000 employees at federal and state level represent.
