Varga has built the first two NEW developed VARGA OKTOFLEX CASING machines specifically designed for printing artificial casings and shrink tubes. Front and back side can be printed in one step. Printing width is typically 500-600 mm at single print and 240-280 mm at front and back side, with a turning bar and software controlled automatic register setting.

Their latest development is the design of new reinforced strength printing units supported at 4 points. The printing decks and their bearing housings open automatically. Vargas press has new frame design, with the aim of offering their machines in 8 or 10 color versions. At the 10-colour machines it is important that the overall height of the machine does not increase, so their machines can still fit into the pressroom with the same dimensions as before and retain its compact design. They have designed a new, more efficient drying system, the main feature of it is the energy efficiency, which results in significant savings in the cost of running the press. In addition to the traditional drying systems for water and solvent based ink systems, they also offer UV drying as an option.

They offer their new software developments what called PRINT 4.0. Their machines not only connected to each other, but they have a new flexible interface and gateway system between their machines and our customers’ ERP systems, giving and receiving the relevant production information. In addition with their latest developments, the production data and status of each machine can now be tracked online in real time via mobile phone, helping managers and machine operators and facilitating the day-to-day administration involved in monitoring the work. The new system has been introduced as SMART FLEXO application within our PRINT 4.0 range.

Their latest development is a smart solution based on Artificial Intelligence that represents a rapid development in the field of quality assurance. They have developed a print inspection system with 100% print image display, microscope, spectrophotometer and excellent software. This is the “eye” of the machine. Since they have enough information about the products printed by the machine, Varga has been developing for years the defect detection functions, which can detect the most important flexo printing defects and warn the operator after detection.

Artificial Intelligence is getting better at correcting mistakes. As a result of the learning process, information can be shared between VARGA machines, which is a dynamically accelerating learning process with ever increasing efficiency.
