Erik Edelmann is the new CSO (Chief Sales Officer) at the film and packaging specialist Bischof + Klein.

Until the end of last year, the 43-year-old chemical engineer was Henkel’s head of sales for adhesives in the packaging and consumer goods industry in Southeast Asia. From Bangkok, he is now switching to Lengerich in Westphalia and one of Europe’s leading full-service suppliers of flexible plastic and plastic laminate packaging and technical films. Entering new strategic markets is on his agenda, as is accelerating the development of sustainable product protection. “The task of opening up entirely new possibilities for plastic packaging and films through our innovations is what appeals to me in this successful family-owned company. Sustainability remains the future of the packaging industry”, says Edelmann.

The new CSO completes the executive board alongside CFO Karsten Pax, COO Manfred Albrecht and CEO Dr. Tobias Lührig. The latter will now be concentrating intensively on strategy and digitalisation again. Headquartered in Lengerich, the company employs around 2,700 staff at a total of five locations in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Poland. Its product portfolio extends from industrial sacks, high-purity bag systems and barrier films for consumer goods to surface protection and backsheets for photovoltaic modules. In 2019, the company generated sales of approx. 540 million euros.
