Horn & Bauer Factory extension completed in Ilmenau
October 10, 2018At the beginning of September 2018, the film manufacturer Horn & Bauer (Schwalmstadt) inaugurated an extension of around 2,000 m² in its Ilmenau plant, located in the Thuringian Forest. The new hall houses a 7-layer blown film line, which began operation at the inauguration.
As a result, the plant with a total area of 6,000 m² comprises four blown film lines three 3-layer extrusion blow molding lines for tube widths up to 1,600 mm, 2,000 mm and 3,600 mm as well as the new 7-layer line with a width of 2,400 mm. In addition, there are several mono-extrusion plants and a recycling plant that works for all three locations of Horn & Bauer.
