GB to double plastic bag prices

Shoppers in Great Britain might face paying twice as much for carrier bags if they forget to take a reusable alternative to the shops.

The new proposals for curbing plastic usage would make it mandatory for smaller stores to charge for plastic bags. Today, only retailers with over 250 employees have to impose the 5p charge on plastic bags.
