The goal of his company is to establish sustainable business models in the industry for flexible packaging, according to the new division manager.
To build up the new product division, the paper company will equip the Kehl am Rhein site this year with another paper machine and a new coating machine.
By investing 300 million euros, Koehler ensures that it has technologies that set a benchmark for the industry. In addition to conventional papers for flexible packaging, the company wants to be able to produce papers in the future that can replace plastic with their barrier properties in some packaging areas.
The coating machine is scheduled to go into operation starting in July and the paper machine from September.
