Corrugated cardboard made from grass paper is an ecological packaging material. THIMM is currently producing displays consisting of corrugated cardboard made from grass paper for Foodbuzz, the food start-up marketer. Foodbuzz is presenting the grass corrugated cardboard displays in its own pop-up store Bikini Berlin, the world’s first concept shopping mall.

THIMM has always focused on the use of sustainable and innovative raw materials for its packaging and displays. With corrugated cardboard made from grass paper we can offer our sustainably operating customers another alternative to normal corrugated cardboard. Grass paper forms the basis of grass corrugated cardboard. The grass paper is obtained from non-previously used agricultural compensation areas. These are legally-prescribed and are neither fertilised nor chemically treated. The grass paper used for producing the corrugated cardboard consists of about 30% grass pellets and about 70% waste paper. The grass pellets for the paper production are purely mechanically processed so very little water and energy are required.

The corrugated cardboard made from grass paper is produced by THIMM in its corrugators in Germany and in the Czech Republic, where corrugated cardboard made from grass paper can also be combined with waste-based fluting and testliner.
