Comexi, a specialist in solutions for the printing industry and the conversion of flexible packaging, and Tom Ltd., a leading Russian company which is part of KDV Group, have strengthened their commercial relationship thanks to the new acquisition of two new Comexi flexographic presses.

The decision by the Siberian company to purchase the new Comexi presses F2 ML 10 colours and a Comexi F2 MC 10 colours, has allowed Tom Ltd. to leap forward in the quality of their performance and access to new markets. Through these acquisitions, the Russian company can print faster, at a maximum speed of 500 m/min, and spend less time with changeovers. In addition, the large format of the F2 ML (1160mm) in relation to the FW (800mm), represents an advantage for Tom Ltd., allowing them to satisfy larger repeat prints for their portfolio.

Thanks to this, they are currently able to compete in markets such as pet food, gardening bags and even wrap around bottles and cans. “In 2018 we implemented two new press machines: the Comexi F2 ML 10 colours and Comexi F2 MC 10 colours, bringing our existing production chain to a total of 6 Comexi machines. As a result of the print speed and quality offered by Comexi products, we have been competitive in the market for more than 10 years. Likewise, we are very satisfied with the quality technical service and timely support provided by the company’s specialists at any stage of production.

We look forward to continuing this valuable collaboration with Comexi”, explains Sergey Maltsev, Deputy General Manager of Tom Ltd. Located in Siberia, Tom Ltd. is a company specialized in the manufacture of products for flexible packaging within the KDV Group. This business group owns several brands such as Yashkino, 3 Korochki, Beerka or Babkini Semiechki, amongst others, making it one of the largest manufacturers of confectionery and snack foods in Russia.

“Tom Ltd. is one of our most important global clients, and I am very proud of the success of our long-term relationship”, explains Alexander Rabassa, Comexi Area Manager in this region, whoalso emphasized that “their new F2 ML and F2 MC presses provide the highest printing quality with the minimum waste and quick changeover, dramatically increasing production efficiency and equipment amortisation, in turn further positively effecting the success story of Tom Ltd”.

The Comexi F2 ML, a top range press and the biggest member of the F2 family product line, is perfect for the demands of the polyethylene market, offering quality at high speeds, large repeat prints and a great degree of adaptability, without forgetting the ergonomics and use of the F2 flexo press range. Due to this machine’s reinforced design of its printing units, it is capable of printing large repetitive prints, thus achieving and unbeatable machine profit margins. Additionally, the Comexi F2 ML can satisfy the requirements of even the most demanding applications thanks to its ergonomics, robustness and wide range of peripherals and downstream units.

The Comexi F2 MC flexo machine is very versatile and it has been designed to offer to our clients the possibility of being highly competitive, due to its ability to perform medium and long runs in the flexible packaging market for the retail and wholesale channels. All of this is possible as a result of its extraordinary ergonomics and ease in changeover, where the printing speed is an important factor in order to increase productivity. These two presses incorporate the Cingular Real2 system which is based on viewing 100% of the printing job and has the latest register and printing unit pressure setpoint technology. It allows an automatic, real, precise and repetitive setpoint with a minimum loss of web and time, as well as adaptability to new market challenges.
