Ceremony heralds opening of Constantia Ecoflex Ahmedabad

Constantia Flexibles has opened its newest plant in India at a ceremony including more than 300 guests and the Austrian ambassador to India, Brigitte Öppinger-Walchshofer.

“With Constantia Ecoflex Ahmedabad we are making a big step towards more sustainable packaging,” said chief executive Alexander Baumgartner. “This is not only a great progress in terms of sustainability for Constantia Flexibles but also the entire packaging industry. Together we can go into a greener future!”

A core product that will be manufactured at the 24,500 sqm plant is Ecolam, a high-barrier mono-PE laminate for flexible packaging applications.

Pavan Parikh, managing director and vice president of Constantia Ecoflex Ahmedabad, said: “Innovation is not a dispensable luxury but simply a necessity.”
