Boxen Emballage have purchased an automatic die cutter from Baysek Machines, the US-based machinery manufacturer and supplier. The EL-150 automatic die cutter has a maximum sheet size of 1220mm x 1320mm, but can extended to 2130mm x 1320mm for companies producing larger work. The Baysek die-cutting method is very unique; Baysek die cutters produce fully stripped, nick-free die cuts, whether it’s a one-out or multiple-outs. The finished parts exit the machine, counted and stacked ready for shipping saving both time and additional labour cost as no further handling is required such as ‘breaking out’ or further ‘stripping’ unlike some other machines on the market.

The EL-150 can process and die cut all grades of corrugated from single face up to double wall, solid board, foil/foam laminates as well as display board for the digital printing and point-of-sale markets. The PLC is operator friendly with multiple features designed to maximise production time, and the machine is CE marked and has enhanced safety features throughout making the machine one of the safest on the market. Average job changeover is 10-15 minutes with no make ready, and running the machine only requires one operator and one cutting die which has huge cost savings.

Robert Jess, UK & Europe Sales, said, “Boxen Emballage produce a variety of work from small-to-medium runs to larger bespoke work and we quickly identified the need for our machine to be incorporated as part of our customers’ ongoing business growth and strategy for diversifying in today’s ever changing market place. The EL-150 was the perfect fit for their business; complexity of some jobs and the ability to strip effectively together with 45-60mins job change over on their previous machine now means their output and die cutting capacity has increased significantly, additionally a reduction in labour cost has naturally had a positive impact. Rune Jorgensen, Owner of Boxen Emballage, decided to choose the larger sheet format machine for their big box business; the machine will be installed in March 2021.”

It’s a challenging and difficult time for the packaging industry as a whole at the moment during the Covid-19 pandemic. Baysek and our customers are classed as essential businesses keeping the supply chain moving forward for manufacturers of corrugated boxes, food and drinks packaging and other consumer products such as medical and pharmaceutical packaging. It’s an exciting time for Baysek, more companies are realising the benefits of our machinery, their versatility and the after-sales support we offer. Baysek have 170 machine installations globally including dozens across Europe and the UK.
